Genuine Bissell Pump Assembly

It is what it is.
Carpet cleaner spraying just a little water then stopping, each time? Could be a bad pump. A rather poor design decision, using as few seals as possible, seems to allow this pump's little seal to break down and allow air to enter the blade area through the shaft, causing cavitation (as it starts to only swirl air around, and not move water). And, since this is nearly the only part in the system that doesn't permit disassembly without destroying the pump, your only option is to replace it!

Sure enough, this did the trick. Cleaner now works great again, and as long as the owner doesn't continue to store the cleaner with soap in the lines, it should continue to work fine. Speaking of which, I should give them a call...

prompt delivery, worked great
Worked great. Too bad Bissell couldn't have made these things to last longer. Hopefully this one will last longer than the original.

Perfect Replacement & Quick Shipping
We've owned our Bissell for about 4 years, and have been very happy with it under very limited use. 2 weeks ago, we got a new puppy, so of course the carpet cleaner decided to stop working. Pulled it apart, and a quick diagnosis indicated it was in need of a new pump. Amazon to the rescue! The new part was here within 4 days, with free shipping. Popped it in in about 15 minutes, and was restoring my "new puppy" carpeting to good-as-new! We briefly thought about buying a new machine, but at $200.00+, and lower build quality, that was not an option. If you have an older Bissell with the polyethylene bladder/tank: keep it, and fix it. The new models with polystyrene water reservoir WILL eventually fail.
